On the heels of the Troutman Sanders and Georgia State University joint conference “Healthcare Meets the Environment: A Symposium on Managing Pharmaceutical Wastes,” the issue of Take-Back pharmacy programs continues to be a hot topic.
On November 19, 2014, Inside EPA posted an article in which an official with the nationwide drugstore retailer CVS Health discussed the need for regulation or guidance from states related to pharmaceutical collection to help resolve ambiguity and to provide a clear and easy path for collection and responsible disposal of waste pharmaceuticals.
CVS Health was the lead sponsor of the Healthcare Meets the Environment conference.
